Hello, Iv done stuff with GD before but never with a database or any flat file so I’m not so sure what the heck I’m doing. The basic jist of what I’m trying to do is this.
1) User comes to site and sees a map.
2) User clicks "Plot me" and gets taken to a page that has latitude, longitude, Country, State input boxes.
3) User types in there latitude, longitude Country and state (Country and state should be option)
4) Data is then saved to database
5) User is redirected back to the map and sees a dot where he or she lives
6) User runs his mouse over a dot and sees a java type popup with "lat, long, Country, State"
I do have plans to integrate this into a user log in system but would like to at have a working script and an understanding of what I’m doing.
So I need help, Iv read the articles on here and on a number of other sites but none ever shows examples about saving and getting data from a database and then plotting using GD. I have looked into this script http://www.xpenguin.com/ip-atlas.php but its now a basic system and there’s to many bugs for me to sit through and fix.
So anyone know of any good examples, tutorials, or would like to actually write the database write and get for me? Much thanks in advanced.
