HELP! Append to page

Hi,
I'm sure this topic has been raised too much but I don't know how to search for it or what to search for! so if you would please point me in the right direction...

I want to have a form on the page that when submitted adds the contents to the same page.

For example:
I have a text box called CmntTXT

|YELLOW_____|

and I enter the word YELLOW (or any text) in there...

I want the page then be rendered as:

YELLOW

|______________|

Then another word...

|BLACK_______|

then the page would be:

BLACK
YELLOW

|______________|

I know how to make the form and how to pass arguments, what I don't know how to do is to append (if this is the right word?!) to the page after each submit.

What do u want to append and where?
Do u enter the text into a textarea, and each time u submit u want the text to be appended in there?

I have an HTML page with this text box in it. I want the contents of the textbox be written on top of the textarea (or underneath it) when the submit button is pressed.
Does this help?

I get these two errors:

You have to put that PHP code at the very top of the page, no HTML or any data can be outputted before the call to session_start().

When i input some text into the textbox i get this...

after this i have to manually press on the back button to go to the first page! it doesn't redirect me.
Also, I want the textbox visible in this page too and another problem is that if i go to the page again at a later time the few lines that have been added are not there anymore.

Wait a sec - you want the data entered to stay there? Sessions are ment to be per-session only, so when the window is closed, the data is lost.

If you want the data to be permanently recorded, look at creating files and writing the data to a file (functions involved would be: [man]fopen/man, [man]fwrite/man.)
