database connection.. not seeing the database

its not seeing the database for some reason.. is this correct?

Silly but...

Not unless your database name is DBNAME password is DBPASS etc...

You need to replace those values with those of your database.

I think u should debug your class to see how it connects to mysql ...

thats the thing.. i didnt write this script. it was made by the last guy that worked on it, and ive never connected to the database this way. but later in the script, sometimes itll use "regular" connections.. sometimes not.

the problem started when the site was moved from the original server, to the new server.. this new server has a few differences, like safe mode enabled, and
open_basedir is set to .

when i change the location of DB.php to what this new company said the location is, i get basedir errors..

when i copy the DB.php and PEAR.php from the old server and use the location for the new one, i get no errors.. only a "no database found" error. im not sure if DB/PEAR.php will work if its not in the correct folder..

im kinda lost on this, and we need this site up asap..
