Imagettftext bad quality problem

Hi all,

I have a problem generating images with the gdlib. 
The real problem is the very bad quality of the function "imagettftext" that prints text in a image.

I use the gd version: 
    GD Version  bundled (2.0.28 compatible)  

I need any solution for getting this text with good quality using PHP + gd.

I hope any answer, thanx a lot.

The code is:

Imagettftext($this->im,$fontsize,0,$x,$y,- $this->dblack,$this->verdana,"Text to print");

where:
$fontsize is normally 8,9 or 10.
I use the "- $this->dblack" for desactivate antialiasing because the quality of the antialiasing is very bad.

The problem I have is that the quality of the font isn't good, the letters haven't the normal shape, there are more pixels than normally.
