Hi, I'm new to this forum but I really hope you all can help me. I've messed with php before and never had this problem until now. After reinstalling windows on my laptop, I downloaded and installed php 4.4.2 from php.net on my windows xp pro sp2 machine running IIS 5.1. Now, when I try to run a php install script for the Tiki CMS (or any other CMS or anything that uses php, really), I keep getting the error "The Page Cannot be found", even the the page is RIGHT FRIGGIN THERE.
I used the php windows installer from the site and I see the php extention mapped to the php.exe file in the php folder under the web site properties. what else do I need to do?
I've already tried running a basic phpinfo() page, and it works!! But when I try to do something complicated like the tiki cms I keep getting that error. The funny thing is, if I go to localhost/tiki/install.php it says I have to first run tiki-install.php (in other words, the page works) but when I click the link to tiki-install.php, it says the page cannot be found!! And it's right there!
this happened with every cms I tried to install. I copied the exact contents of the folder to my windows server 2003 machine, and it works fine, so I know the problem is some misconfiguration of my IIS on the laptop, but WHERE IS IT?!! I've been all over this forum and other forums and the web and the leading answer is "just insall apache" which first of all isn't even a solution, and secondly isn't feasible for me because I develop in .NET so I have to have IIS.
Besides that, there is no excuse for it not working so I want to fix it! But I can't!! I've tried
uninstalling/deleting/reinstalling php
uninstalling/reinstalling IIS
and like i said this is a fresh install of windows, so what gives?! Somebody please help me because I've spent the last two days with this stupid problem, time wasted that I could be developing!!
thank you,
