Simple Score Board

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone knows of a simple script tutorial so I could make a race scoreboard like this: http://www.topgear.com/content/tgonbbc2/laptimes/celebrity/, using PHP and MYSQL where you can add a name and time (via a log in), and tick a box for wet, and it updates the scoreboard accordingly. Say with twenty viewable entries and a more link to see them all if there's more than 20.

Or, if it's dead simple, can someone just post a walk through for a total novice like mysel? 🙂

just find a tutorial on php +mysql..google is your friend
you will need a table to store an id, a name field, a time field and a wet field..
then you just do a query to the database, loop through the results and present them in a neat looking table 🙂

I used google to get here... it's not really my friend, I'm a total numpty with this stuff. 🙂

I tend to overcomplicate things in my head and find it difficult to find what I'm looking for, or I'm already looking at what I'm looking for and don't realize it. Old age I think is my problem.

I'm usually all right once someone/a book has walked me through it like an eight year old, but when I don't know how to do something it scrambles up in my brain like it's really complicated even when it probably is not.

I've tried searching for ages for score tables and such but all I get is stuff about games, Flash games and highscore routines - I'm probably just thinking about it all the wrong way around, I usually do.

I'll try having a look in Borders book store, mysql and php for idiots or whatever they call it. 🙂
