can all passwords become corrupted?

I have a mysql database, linked to a PHP order form.

I just checked my password table for the users from my admin panel, and all the passwords look like different versions of this:

They never used to be like that as far as I recall!!

All of the other information in the file is intact. I did not encrypt the password - what would cause this to happen? If usernames are submitted from an admin panel, might they be encrypted, or is this a corruption?

If your admin panel is Web-based, then it sounds like the character encoding in your browser was set incorrectly when you were looking at it. I wouldn't worry, as long as everything still works.

Perhaps the character encoding was set correctly in the admin panel, but your application is putting nonsense into the database because its encodings are mixed up?

This one has me stumped. All of the passwords are encoded that way, or variations of odd characters. I edited my own username to reflect the actual password, and it still works. all of the others do too, with garbled letters.

On top of that, I have one user who can log in, but when the order form is filled out under her user name, the information is not added into the database, even though it appears to be as the confirmation page pops up, and even though every other user does not have this problem.

I dont' even know where to start on that one. I myself have logged on as her username, filled out the order form, but I cannot get the data from the webform to be accepted by the database, although it appears to be accepted when you hit submit, there is no record entered for it.

Any ideas what I might look for as a cause for this singular event?
