hard drive help

i got an internal HDD and an external case, i have it all hooked up right, (took out the jumper all the way so it is in single mode) and when i plug it into the computer it shows it come upand says it has installed the right drivers, but on the my computer page i can't get to it(does not show up) I have check device mananger and it says it is working fine, can anyone help me with this, i hope the HDD is not bad cause it is a 320GB one and it is brand new

i just purchased a USB/FW HDD enclosure and found that i had to configure the jumpers on the drive for "slave" mode for it to work.

Alternatively, go to
controlpanel > administrative tools > computer management
If you harddisk shows up there under disk management, you'll probably find it has no driveletter assigned to it. You can add one there under action > all tasks.
