IIS 5.1, XP Pro, PHP 4

Good day everyone,

I am in need of any information that you could provide on why my PHP page is not seen in my browser??

I am running XP Pro with IIS 5.1 and PHP 4.

I am able to get to the main server page by typing in "http://localhost". And I am also able to open my HTML page by using "http://localhost/index.html". But when I try to open my test.php page it says that it is not there. I have checked the "inetpub/wwwroot" folder and the file is indeed there.

I have attempted to install PHP from both angles. Manual and auto, with the same results. I know that there is just something that is simple that I need to change but I can't picture what it is.

I have gone through 101 tutorials on installing everything and I have double and triple checked all of the settings in the default web site and in the PHP.ini file, but I just don't see what I am doing wrong.

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. 🙂

Uninstall IIS completely, or disable it entirely.
Install either XAMPP or WAMP
If using XAMPP run either PHP 4 or PHP 5, your choice.
Done deal.

How does this help with PHP and IIS?? It sounds as though these programs are specifically for apache not IIS. 😕

If you absolutely have to have PHP running on IIS. There is a windows installer at thisLINK That will set up PHP4.4.2 for you on the IIS. You will also have to download the additional extensions that you want to use. I believe that if you just accept the defaults as the it should then work. Remember to restart you computer after install then run phpinfo();
