Apache: please help to configurate .htaccess

Hello,

Maybe somebody could help me to configurate Apache's .htaccess file?

Mod rewrite: i want to redict all URLs with '/'.
example: mysite.com/support/faq > mysite.com/?p=support.faq
Directories protection: i don't want that user could see files from any directory (to deny all direcories from listing).
What more apache security settings you would suggest to use? My project requires a hight security level.

Do you want it to be so that when the user types:
http://MySite.com/support/faq/ it still shows that URL in the address bar, but send a request to php for the page "http://MySite.com/?p=support.faq"

If so, that is what I want to do!

My site works similarly, but having URLs like /?page=games is very messy, I had this feature when I was usijng Joomla! (shudder not enough control) so instead of /?component=xyz&this-that&theother=something, I just ticked a box saying "Search Engine friendly URLs and It worked nicely..........

This is definitely to do with .htaccess, I could send you my old .htaccess file if you want...

I can't amswer no. 1 atm, but deny dir listing add

Options -Indexes

in the .htaccess file FOR THAT DIRECTORY (or for your whole site if you like!)

Also try

deny from all

This means that no IP (person) can access this dir, but scripts still can...

PUT THIS ONE (⁾ ONLY IN THE DIR THAT IT SHOULD EFFECT (in a new .htaccess file)
