calling a web site from php script

Hello

I am new to php but pretty familiar with C, C++ and C# and don't have much experience with web development.

I am wondering if someone can give me a hint on whether it is possible to write a php scipt to call a vendor web page, pass input field to it, submit the request and retieve the pricing fileds back upon response.

Appreciate any newbie level feedback and suggestions on references that I can use to do this.

Check out the CURL command at www.php.net It will do everything you want. Of course, you will get one long string back from the site and you will probably need to parse the string with regular expressions to find the data you are looking for.
