[RESOLVED] php mysql league table??

I've done a number of searches but cant find what I need, so I'm hoping someone here can help me.

Is there a code to display a league table based on player name & total points.

I have these fields in my database and want to be able to retrieve the data and it shown on my page with in desending order with a position number.

lol I just finished doing this for a school project. I'm assuming you have a table of teams and one of games?

This probably isn't the best way but it works.
I had to display a table with team plyd. won lost oals etc.
Basically get all your teams compare them to the teams in games table and record each teams stats in a class. then store each object in an array...then just sort through the array and output it.

What it is, I have just one table with fields username and current score.

And it's from that, that I want to produce a league table.

Would you be able to give an example of coding to do this?

Are you looking for this kind of structure:

+----------------+------------------------+
|related username | their points (highest)----|
|realted username | their points (next highest)|
ETC...

If so just query, then assign to vars,

query:

SELECT * FROM league_data ORDER BY points DESC

You would then have to set up a while loop to output all the records, if you need help with that just let me know
