Need some help with a user system using PHP/MySql

Hello, recently I've been trying to make my own User System for my website, from scratch, and I managed to do it but it had a lot of flaws, so I simply deleted it, it was ugly.

Today I was searching for tutorials on this matter, and instead found a script made by jpmaster or something, seems good so far.

The thing is I've never worked with MySQL before, and I just learned the basics.
What I'm trying is to add new values to the tables created by the script. The script includes username, password, userid, email, timestamp and I think that's about it. I'm trying to add an avatar field, comment, location, basically user information, but when I modify the .sql file so the new values are added, I can't register new users, they get an error.

I don't think I can explain what exactly my error is, I would really appreciate if someone could guide me via msn or something.

maybe you can use phpmyadmin, select the wanted table, "export" it
( no values, just "create"-statments you get the creation syntax ) and then
edit that by hand to add your columns.
maybe you should read the mysql-manual( "select statements" ) a bit to get the idea.

No no, the thing is a bit complex, I can create all the values I want, but for some reason when I add more tables, I get errors after the registration.

So that's why I'm wondering if someone could please add me and help me sort it out.
