Including images using PHP Includes

Hello all.

I would appreciate any help that you can offer. I've managed to include an html file in my PHP page, but I can't seem to include graphics.

I've tried:

<?php include("images/site/sitelogo.jpg"); ?>

But it is just not working. It just gives a whole stream of strange squares, umlauts and random letters.

Sorry if I'm missing somnething, but can't it be done? I want to include my logo at the top of the page, but if it can't be done I'd just do it with html. Just wondering though, in big sites, say stores, how do they have all the clickable buttons, say for the 'add to cart' graphics, where there might be 20 or more on a page? And if the page is dynamic, surely they must be being included using PHP?

include() literally includes the contents of the .jpg file into your PHP file, so you will see what you would see if you would open a JPG file with an application like notepad.

What you should do is:

echo "<img src=\"images/site/sitelogo.jpg\">";
