Hello everyone,
I'm a web designer venturing into programming and fear I may have screwed something up while attempting to install MySQL Standard 5.0.22 and PHP 5.0.4 locally on OS X 10.4.6. Before I ran either of the installers (PHP: http://www2.entropy.ch/download/Entropy-PHP-5.0.4-apache2-1.dmg and mySQL: http://mirror.services.wisc.edu/mysql/Downloads/MySQL-5.0/mysql-standard-5.0.22-osx10.4-powerpc.dmg) I was able to start Personal Web Sharing in System Preferences > Sharing. Now, Personal Web Sharing is grayed out and a message is displayed saying: "Web Sharing is not installed on this computer. To install Web Sharing, use the Mac OS X installer." I know for a fact it worked properly before running these installation files. Also, which version of Apache comes preloaded with OS X 10.4.6? How do you determine if Apache is installed and what version it is?
What I'd like to do is restore Personal Web Sharing functionality, get the latest/stable versions of PHP, mySQL and Apache installed so I can learn and test things locally. So I either need to uninstall what the aforementioned installations of PHP and mySQL and start fresh, or apply whatever the fix is to get Web Sharing back.
Thanks,
Mason
