nl2br insert

Hi, I am trying to insert the (nl2br) string into this piece of code, but keep getting errors, so this is why I am here. Can someone help.

Here is the line of code.

<?php echo substr($row_frontpagenews['copy'],0,200)."..."?>

Does it come before or after the 'substr' or maybe not at all 😕

Thanks for the quick reply, I tried this code below using your link as help, sorry forgot to mention that I am a newbiew on the php front, so go easy on me!

This is what I have tried so far, but still errors:

<?php echo nl2br substr ($row_frontpagenews['copy'],0,200)."..."?>

But whe I try: <?php echo nl2br (removing the substr) ($row_frontpagenews['copy'],0,200)."..."?>

I get this error message in the text area: Warning: Wrong parameter count for nl2br() in...

Any ideas...again.

What is the full code that you have in

<?php echo nl2br substr ($row_frontpagenews['copy'],0,200)."..."?>

I mean where the ...ellipsis is in your example?

Ok, here is the full code to do with this area on the website:

The nl2nr() function must enclose the string you want to add a <br /> in place of a \n within that string. It is used for presentation in a browser. so you code should look like

<?php echo nl2br(substr($row_frontpagenews['copy'],0,200))."..."?>

I am not too sure what all the other you have is though but that would add the <br />'s wherever there is a \n newline in the string.
