Listserv, GroupMail, etc. (pls help!)

Okay, I'm about ready to bawl like a baby.

For days and days and weeks and months I've been searching for a simple groupmail package that will function as a listserv. I can't even find a commercial package to do it.

For those who don't know what listserv is, it's this: basically, one person sends an email to an address like: [e-mail] and it goes to everyone on the mail list.

It won't do me any good if you suggest I simply use Listserv because I don't have the facility. As for Majordomo I'm on a cheap hosting plan where I just don't have the access needed to install the program.

So I'm begging, does anyone know of anything? Please help!

I wrote something using PHP/MySQL.

It wasn't an address, but it is an online form that members of the list can login and use to send a message to all the other people on the list. I did it this way (rather than using a simple email address that forwards to everyone in the hopes that it would drive people consistently to the site not only for this feature but for other news, too...)

It was acutally pretty easy.

Once people login, they can modify their settings / remove themselves from the list...

And, the person sending the message never sees the recipients of the message...

Do you know MySQL?

I've written programs similar to that myself a few times. I just keep hoping to find a true Listserv program that's easy and already done. I want it for a family web site, might max out at 25 users is the cousins get in on the action.

I tried using a forum but I'm sad to say that was too much work for some of my family members. So now I'm going with Listserv and Gallery...if I can find a Listserv.
