[RESOLVED] PHP pagination of shopping cart contents - help please?

Hi guys,
I'm new here, so please be gentle.
I am going out of my mind trying to figure this out - been php'ing and sql'ing for over 6 months now, and have tried my guts out on this one but i am seriously absolutely stuck!

Any help would be most appreciated, and I'm happy to offer any advice back that i may be able to contribute - and looking forward to helping other people out on the board in the future!
As an experienced graphic designer, I'm also happy to trade expert opinions if anyone needs some help.

Basically I have this page which is spitting out contents of a dbase - der - but specifically, i am outputting the products in a particular category - they have a distinct product with name, cat ref and brand ref, and then in another table there are individual records for various size/price combinations.

You can see by the code basically i setup a heading with the brand image and the name and decsription of the product, the i go and recur each size/price combination in a form, so it can be put into the cart.

It's all going great, but I can't get pagination to work at all - I'm stuck. I've been utilising tutes, but i've followed a tute and im still stuck. I think its because of the way ive setup a function to generate an array of the contents of each product and then used a foreach to spit them out.

Like i say, any help most appreciated!

There are so many threads open with pagination here on the form and I really suggest u to make a search...

If u encounter some problems with your code, tell us what the problem is and we will try to help u ...

Fair cop, OK well to be more specific, I have my record limiting working correctly, I have my records displaying correctly.

If i utilise my URL switch, page=2, i get the right data. ie http://www.mobilepetsupplies.com.au/index.php?section=shop&c=21&page=2
Even the page numbers at the bottom properly display themselves.
What I can't get working is the page numbers across the bottom to actually display as hyperlinks and link through to the other pages from page 1.

Incidentally, I am limiting the number of records to 3 currently, there are at least 4 in the database to be displayed.

Any help would be great, like i said I've spent what actually is now the best part of a day on this and am totally stuck, cheers.

Can u put here the code that do exactly this part? Don't paste your hole script, only that part of the script, what is happening when the page = 1, or explain what is happening when the page = 1 ...

OK here goes.. I think its some sort of evil interaction with the overall page code as a whole.. but the code i'm using for the links is this:

this i have at the top of the page:

Can u show me the sql that extracts this $numProduct?

OK, the sql that grabs that info is as follows:

$dppdidarray = mysql_query($query_dppdid) or die(mysql_error());

$numProduct = mysql_num_rows($dppdidarray);

There are other queries running further down the page to retrieve info out of the database and recur the results, etc. the code can be seen in its entirety at

I thought that was your problem ...

Why do u limit your query, dont u want to extract all the products from db?

Ahhhh thankyou very much
I am limiting because theyre the results I want to display.
But i was also using the same query to get the total number of products - so I thought - stupid!
I now have a separate query to find out how many products -total- are in the whole table.
Working perfectly - thanks for your feedback it prompted me to think in a different way!
