threads are too small why?

hi, phpbuilder staffs.

i only curious to know regarding the threads.
if i'm not mistaken, i notice that this website is almost a decade.
(please correct me if i'm wrong.)

now and also the old members here, i saw member joined 2001,
2002, and 2004 and etc.

if that so then why is it that the thread in code critique forum for example are only from 1-18.
and in general help forum for example are only from 1-500 threads?

Im not a staff member but I think I can answer your question. By default, you see threads only from starting from last day. Ofcourse "code critique" is not so popular than "general help" so thats why there are less threads postet from last day.

Just edit your profiles options and set thread age to whatever you like. Is this what you meant?

At the bottom of each forum is one of these:

That'll enable you to select when and how you see all the threads.

It appears that the board has been "archived"; this was probably done to simply increase the speed of the database server, but there are other potential reasons (one that comes immediately to mind is the fact that some Search Engines don't deal with QUERY_STRING too well, and the "archiver" creates easily searchable static HTML pages; that brings up another thought, it's much easier on the webserver hardware to server static HTML in response to a million Google users 😉 ). It happens on boards all the time.

Running a board search will actually get you to "see" the older threads. Also, click on the "Archive" link at the bottom of the page. It's all still there.

And, some of them were pretty good, way back then, IMHO ....

You can still access all threads by setting the default age as was mentioned above. Set it to beginning if you like. Of course I can't vouch for the speed performance.
