I am making a site that is hosted with Demon. I have done a few sites before that use GD to upload and resize images and they have worked fine, but Demon wont install GD for 'security reasons' (?!) Anyway its a pretty important (and I'd have thought very common) need to be able to allow users to upload images and make thumbnails of them.
Any ideas how to do it with out GD? I have tried djpeg and cjpeg to try and convert and resize the image from raw but PHP 4 (as they have installed and 5 for that matter) does not seem to do anything with those instructions either...
Is there anyway around this other than switching hosts?
Any help much appreciated.
