I'm building a simple little e-commerce site for a client. Nothing fancy - add/edit products, display products etc.
The thing I'm a bit stumped with is that they have lots of fractions in their product sizes I'm wanting them to keep the special character display. My first idea was an input field & fraction drop down for each dimension (width/height/depth) but some of their products are different items packaged together (journal & pencils), totally inconsistant so the only real was is to give them a big 'ol text input.
If the info is pasted into the input box from excel or the like, it writes & reads from the database fine
My question in, without trying to teach them any html special characters, is there any way to let them enter the fractions with just going 1/2.
If someone enteres a "1/2" -should I chage it over to a special character?
I don't think they are going in as html special characters into the database - some sort of mysql character?
An example of what the user might input:
13”Hx10 ¾”D
or
Journal: 7 ¾”Hx5 ¼”W; Pencils: 7 ½”H
or even:
Small: 4”Hx12 ½”Lx8 ½”D; Medium: 4 ½”Hx14 ½”Lx9 ½”D; Large: 5”Hx16 ½”Lx11 ½”D
