Scroll Box help

I have a news post system on my site and I am trying to make it so it posts the news into a scroll box. But when I test it it just posts the code in the box. I want to be able to post the content not the code. I also want to know how to change the colour of the background of the text box and the font colour. I also need to know if I am useing the right sort of scroll box or if there isa better way to do it.

This is what I have:

That does the box and bgcolor find but it puts the code from news/show_news.php into the scroll box not the actual news posts.

Can you help more than that?

I tried to have a look around that sort of thing but dont know how to use <div>.

Masna suggest u to use div tag, but he wanted to say to look for a css style that create that text box with scroll:

Look for overflow and u can try google for examples ...

Here is an example (scale the browser and u'll see the text on the right is going to be in a scroll box, view source and u have an example), but u can find lots of this examples ...

Im new with this php and div and im not sure what to do.

what do i do with the style sheet thing where do i put that?

You could also (to make valid XHTML) do:

<div style="height: aapx; width: bbpx; overflow: auto;"><p>ALL NEWS</p></div>

That would be more valid, you could also apply a css style to the paragraph, or do some javascript to it...

another option (would create it scrolling) would be:

<marquee style="height: [FontSize]pt; width: [aa]px; overflow: 0px;">NEWS!</marquee>

This would look cool!
