Sounds like your interpretation of someone's words. That may, or may not have been what they're saying. "Iron sharpens iron", as the saying goes*. If you take Vaaska's advice above, you might find out that a rough beginning is simply an indication that you're becoming sharper. I've been here for four years, and you would definitely not be the first "board newbie" who didn't feel welcome at first. I don't think it's personal unless you make it be. It just the way things are here, and it's a tad worse in Code Critique and the Echo Lounge because of the nature of these sub-forums.
In case anyone hasn't said it, welcome to the forums. Watch your P's and Q's, dot your I's, RTFM, UTSL, think before you press submit, etc.
