There are still no good open source PHP code for some kind of apps

These days I start my own project of making an Ladder system to suit for the game LF2. Thx for Phpbuilder... save me lot of time and answerd a lot of mine questions.
Because I try to make this system, that's why I found I can't find any good code snippet for some part of my site
My definition of Good is:
1. Stable
2. Only do what the script need to do and no useless extensions or functions
3. good documentation

Here are the fields lack of a good open source PHP script:
1. Online Code Snippet
the best is PHP-CSL. it contain lot of bugs and stop updated like 1 year ago, I made some change so it uses GeSHi to highlight and fixed some bugs.. still use able...
2. Ladder system
The best is Squash ladder, It is good but it's still not an easily extendable ladder system, so I got to make my own
3. Profile system
I can't belive it, I walk around and found no PROFILE SYSTEMS. I know, Profile system can be the next easiest thing to do after "HELLO WORLD", but to design an EASILY ENTENDABLE and config able profile system that can be easily intergrated into any system is NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. But there are something really close to it. CBNYA for PHPnuke is something like it...
4. Privite message system
Just like the last one... a hello world level script that not much codes for them... there are some open source project for it but are OVERPOWERED or USELESS....
5. Medal system
I can't explain what this is like, I know no one will make an Medal System and most people don't even have an idea about it. So I want some alternatives. But I have no idea what things like that are. The medal system I'm talking about is Medal system for PHPbb

As you say, there is no developement made no longer. It is a pity.

There are not many standalone PM systems around.
Maybe because there is not much need for it.
Every forum software, almost, has got its own PM feature or module addon.

PMSys at sourceforge is one project. Uses MySQL.
But last version is from December 2003.
So most sure will need a rewrite for register_globals = OFF.

I have made my own standalone PM System. Uses MySQL, too.
I took forum software Chipmunk Forum http://www.chipmunk-scripts.com/
and used only those forum files that were necessary for PM to work.

After a lot of rewriting I got it to work well.

Finally, I agree with you:
still ... fields lack of a good open source PHP script.

And maybe this is good thing.
We still can enjoy to contribute and write some good PHP Scripts!

I'm thinking an open source 3d game development environment would be nice. something it's easy to port to various platforms. then again, maybe the economics just aren't there.

Yeah they need more free open source apps with functionality that only I require. These open source programmers need to get off their butts and start working!
