replacement mssql functions for php

hello everybody

Im trying to use PHP with a remote MsSQL (Microsoft SQL Server) Data Base

The problem im having is that my webhost doesnt has the php_mssql.dll extension enabled so i cannot use any mssql_function :mad:

I was wondering if anybody knows a way to stablish a conection to the mssql database or a functions that replace the originals or any classes ( ofcourse i dont understand how classes works but anyhelp will be good)

Have you thought of using MySQL instead, and if they do not have mssql support enabled it might just be that there is no MsSQL server on that site.

Ya i know MySQL is 100 times better than MSSQL , but this time i MUST use that MsSQL database , its remotely located :S and on that server they dont have php so i could reconfig it :S

Any other idea ? :bemused:

1. Contact your webhost, explain your situation, and ask if they'll consider making a change so that a paying customer (as well as others - both current and prospective) may continue to operate his website.

2. Upon #1 falling through, look for a better webhost.

Is there any other possible way , like using perl ? or a generic function for php ?
