explode

Ok I am been fighting this all night and not almost all day I need more help...

On my form I have checkboxes, where they chose what kind of pop they drink, alot of them such as :

<input type="checkbox" name="pop[]" value="Coke"> Coke<br>
<input type="checkbox" name="pop[]" value="7up"> 7up<br>

Now I imploded them into database with a space and looks like this in table:

*Coke*7up*

Now I know I need to explode it to show what has been checked...
such as :

$specs = explode("*", $pop);

But I have no clue on how to show on form the ones that are checked...

IF i go like $specs[1] and so on, that wouldnt work cause the order would be wrong if someone didnt check one of them, which they do not have too.

I need to show what boxes are checked based on what they checked before so they can update a form if need be.

If you can help me out asap that would be great..

Not tested, but should work something like this...
<input type="checkbox" name="pop[]" <?php if(in_array("Coke", $pop)){ $checked="checked"; }else{ $checked=""; }?>value="Coke"<?php echo $checked; ?>>

Sorry misread your code, should be:

$specs = explode("*", $pop);

<input type="checkbox" name="pop[]" <?php if(in_array("Coke", $specs)){ $checked="checked"; }else{ $checked=""; }?>value="Coke"<?php echo $checked; ?>>

I went with the below and it worked, I tried the one you mentioned but $pop gave me an error:

if(in_array("Coke", $pop)){ $checked="checked"; }

if(in_array("Coke", $specs)){ echo "checked"; }

So far so good, going to finish the form before I mark it solved though..

Yeah when I used pop, I misread the code you posted before. You need to use $specs because that variable contains the exploded array of data.
