Hey 🙂
New question for you please.
We have quite long forms, one is a staff career application so it's extremely long. The form is just standard HTML, with some bits of PHP to include certain things. It submits to a PHP mailer...
I have done some research on splitting forms into seperate "steps" to make it easier to read and validate, but most of these that I saw use a database - all we use is flatfile databases as that suffices for all our needs and has done so for many years.
I was wondering how easy it is to split a form into say 4 steps?
For the first part, (taking our career application) to have personal information.
For the second part, a desired rota.
For the third part, personal questions.
For the fourth part, acceptance of policies.
The other need would that that after each step is "submitted" - it would be validated so they get a chance to correct any errors before progressing to the next step. At the moment, our PHP mailer does all the validation, but on browsers like IE especially, if they use their back button, their input is deleted (to their annoyance...)
At the end of the 4 steps, it would be nice to have a "preview" of everything they entered before submitting it.
How easy is that to achieve? I'd really appreciate any help!
Regards,
