edit chinese

Hello
I was just wondering what the best way was to edit/write chinese characters in php files.
I tried to open a php file containing chinese characters with Dreamweaver, but all was displayed were ASCII and symbols and stuff...
How do I enable the ability to edit and write new charcters and save it in the right format?

Use utf-8 charset.

I did switch the encoding to UTF-8, but non of the characters changed. it was still in ASCII format.

save the code as UTF-8 file

Provided you save the file in utf8, and all of your encoding settings throughout the application are set to use utf8 correctly (there are many things you should consider such as html output, post inputs, email, databases, third party systems integration etc), then it should work fine.
