im really new to all this php so havent got a clue but i do learn really fast i just need some 1 by my side to help me make it and i allso need some ppl for mods on it but that comes later so ppl please me im lost with thanks keiron :o

This bulletin board is made by vBulletin. I suggest that you start there. Download, install, test, use. Then look at some of the code. You will learn good things. Then you can modify it to do what you want.

There are plenty of free php message boards around, try google. When you get stuck, seek help, no one is going to hold your hand.

This forum is not about a lotta help. For example:

This forum is not filled with professionals who write code for a living but really hate to charge money. If you want your code written for you, we already have something for that, they're called consultants and they cost money.

This forum is not about helping one person. It's about answering question in a public forum so that lots of people can benefit from the answers. (This is why I ignore most PM's).

This forum is not about leading you through a lengthy two month project. We already have something for that - they're called schools and they cost money.

So Yes, you are askling us to hold your hand and no, we're not going to do that.

I would just like to say, I am also a noob on this forum. However I will take the time to search previous topics and not try to waste the time of its contributors. And I will be respectful to the fact that people contribute on their own time and don't deserve to be flamed. This guy's statements speak for themselves. He has access to a friend that can hack the #$%^ out of this forum site, but he never thought to ask him for help with setting a forum for himself??? Instead he enlists the services of kind strangers and then berrates them when they request that he put forth a little more effort. It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant these internet toughguys are.

At any rate, this is my first post, and I'm using it to speak out against moronic forum abusers...

I thought that the mother tongue in UK is English.
Schools shouldn't be free there, look at what 23 year olds in UK are capable of!

Appears to be lack of command over the English language and or touch typing skills possibly both, no real thought except vulgarities. Seems there is a very limited vocabulary and limited spelling skills. I should have given one of my wierd answers like

• Download phpBB

• Unzip phpBB

• Create a new database

• Upload phpBB to your server with folder structure intact

• Follow install instructions

• Go to ACP and create some forums

• Make a few posts on phpBB

I'll remeber this guy and should he ever really need some help (then he still will) I would not bother to answer his post. The sad part is that at the age of 23 the poor soul has the education of a 7 year old. I guess this is what that outcome based education is all about. You know if a kid spells cat KAT then that ok cause they tried, or speel anything anyway you want and we will try to figure it out. It doesn't work too well in the work world where if you can't understand what it is someone is saying or trying to write what good are they.
