arbitrary floating calculations

I love everything to do with PHP and its related components but this is really starting to get on my nerves. It is if PHP has a mind of its own.

Some of my calculations go to 10 digits and some go to 8. It just seems crazy. And no it is not because the decimal terminates. I have checked that already.

Anyone know why this is happening??

it's hard to guess anything ... without some code. So please post some example code.
