PHP Shared File Explorer

I am trying to build a php component that can access file from a shared drive on the web server. For example on my web server I have a shared drive, H:\, on this share I have a lot of content that will be changing on a daily basis. I need the file server to have rights to this information for publishing purposes. I have tried to access the files from the mapped drive, and the share path, example \server\content.

Is there a way I can achieve this?

Any chance someone can help with this? I have been rethinking the way I want to get this done, but only if there is not a soultion to my first question.

If all else fails I can move the content to the web server snd publish it from there, and setup an explorer and have the folders be accessed through the site. I would really like the other way to work if possible.
