Help needed with query strings!

Hi I need some help with passing variable data with query strings. I'm passing some variables from one page to another and in doing so making a rather large query string, like this:

echo '<a href="showprod.php?r0='.$p0.'&r1='.$p1.'&r2='.$p2.'&r3='.$p3.'&r4='.$p4.'&r5='.$p5.'&r6='.$p6.'&r7='.$p7.'&r8='.$p8.'&r9='.$p9.'">';

...these variables are being taken from records in a MySQL database. Now this method seems to send the variables OK, and they also seem to be retrievable when I do:

$Var = $_GET['r0'];

...etc on the "receiving" page. But am I doing this right? Should I use urlencode() in case a database entry just happens to be something like "&"? (and would I always have to filter out any ampersands from occurring anyway?) And if I do use urlencode(), how do I retrieve the GET variables?

i've read your script as follow:

echo '<a href="showprod.php?r0='.$p0.'&r1='.$p1.'&r2='.$p2.'&r3='.$p3.'&r4='.$p4.'&r5='.$p5.'&r6='.$p6.'&r7='.$p7.'&r8='.$p8.'&r9='.$p9.'">';

it's ok when you use the syntax like that and you should'nt have to use urlencode(), but there are some thing wrong in your typing way using quote mark. please read mine,ok?

echo "<a href='showprod.php?r0='.$p0.'&r1='.$p1.'&r2='.$p2.'&r3='.$p3.'&r4='.$p4.'
&r5='.$p5.'&r6='.$p6.'&r7='.$p7.'&r8='.$p8.'&r9='.$p9.'>";

Thanks ngcikchien - but don't I have to filter out any ampersands in the database? I'd want the database record to be anything I liked, but couldn't this sometimes mess up the string and thus the variables? Jenny

If you are in this position then you need to rethink your solution. You should not have to put the entire contents of a record or field in the URL, you should be passing primary keys or other 'finder' type information only. What is the big picture of what you are trying to accomplish?

Thanks for that - you woke me up out of a nightmare of sending a ton of stuff via a query string when I didn't need to! I think at one point I had the Biggest Query String In The World™ ! So now I'm back to reality and passing just the primary key! Thanks!
