PHP with Microsoft Word

If I have a page of text generated through php on a blank page, is it possible to have a "submit" button that when it's clicked the text from that page goes straight to Microsoft Word.
Would be grateful if anyone coul;d help with this problem,

Yeah that's possible.

You need to open Word with vbscript from your html file. It uses activeX so it won't work for people who have disabled activeX. Check http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q178222 for more information.

You can't do it directly from php because php is a server side language. MS Word resides on the client machine so you need a client side language to 'connect' with MS Word. The only client side language which can communicate with MS Office application is VBscript ( I think ).

Sorry, it's been a long time since I've done VBscript like this.

Maybe you have better luck trying an VBscript forum. I don't think it's that hard.

But before you do, check this:

And especially step 4. They create an Word document and at text from VBscript. All you need to know now is how to connect it to a button.

I'm sorry but this is as far as my knowledge about VBscript goes ( and that ain't much 😉 )

If you just want to open that text as a new document in word, you can do a simple simple script that opens as a "Word document". I use openoffice so I dont know what word actually does but with oo works fine.
