[RESOLVED] pass status between windows

I am making an upload script for an image gallery, all fine so far and working correctly. The uploading works similar to this forum where you click a button to upload the image and then the previous page recognises that the image has been uploaded and the button status changes to 'Uploaded Image' or whatever.

How do i pass the status back to the main window?

The "main window" ? Are you using pop-ups?

well the main page isn't a pop up but the upload script is. basically all i need to do is send a status back to the original page and display that it has been uploaded. i know how to do it with GET and POST vars but i don't want to reload the page because text for descriptions will be lost on reload.

n/m found a better way to do it using one whole form; didn't realise normal textareas etcs could be used in connjuction
