refeshing the page problem

I am creating a registration script for my site and it is posted to itself. The problem is that when all the information is inserted into the database and i display what you have inserted, like username and email...etc. If i refresh the page then it tries to insert it all again flashing up a dublicate entry message. How can i get around this? I thought of a redirect but would prefere not to.

Use an if else.

if(isset($_POST['submit'])){
  //insert into database;
  if($success){
    //display success message;
  } else {
    //display error message;
  }
} else {
  //display registration form;

A refresh will simply send the POST again....you probably should have username or login's and check that value entered in reg form doesn't already exist in database. Also, you could set a session variable to know user has successfully completed registration and check that at the top of the script.
