I need help!

Ok I posted on here yesterday but noone replied, so Im going to ask again!

When I create an a:hover link effect, I use the a:hover {stuff here} script. I usually place this in my <head> section of my page! However Im using a blank .php file, so how would I create a rollover effect in a file with no <head><body> tag structure?? Where would I place the code??? Do I have to create the <head><body> tags???

PLZ HELP!!!

k.. well first off this is a css question.. not a php question.. but ok

if you have a php file, it doesn't mean you don't put in html tags.. so place your <html><head><title>title</title>CSS</head><body> etc.. tags just as you would normally..

yeh but the thing is, ive set it so that my php page is not a separate page from my index.php

I have a small box on the left for links, and the contents of my links.php file appear in that box! I can do normal formatting tags <b><u><i> etc. But if I add the structure tags <head><body> etc the content no longer stays in the box, instead it writes across the page!!

I dont know what to do!!
