I'm after a way to clean up text brought into my cms by a user. I find that often people copy and paste text from emails or word, and certain characters such as apostrophes ('), quotations (") and dashes (-) are often turned into goobledy gook.
E.g.
“blah blah”
- dashes
It seems there are different kinds of dashes, quotes etc, is there a way to replace them with standard dashes, quotes etc, which can be shown in in forms just like the one I am writing in now?
Searching Google and your forums hasn't helped me at all, perhaps I'm using the wrong words? 'clean up text for mysql in php'?
