Please Help

Hi,
I'm trying to write a script that will access a website and look for specific
text on the site using PHP, is this possible using http and also have it not
regisiter as hit on their stats page. I'm trying to create this script for a
Server Monitor, I've seen scripts out there that all they do is check to see
if they can connect to the port but i want this to be able to see if anything
is actually coming up.

The only way to do it where it doesn't come up in their stats page is to edit the stats tool so that it ignores requests from you. (Maybe you program it to ignore your IP, maybe to ignore requests for test.php, maybe to ignore any URL that contains the string "12345-silly-54321". Then you can make requests to any page you like an put ?fake_string=12345-silly-54321 at the end of the URL and it won't be recorded in the stats.

Or you could just let it get recorded in the stats and then delete any entries in the stats file that come from your IP or contain that silly string.
