[RESOLVED] Matching name from email address

Hello, I have the option of mass communication to all customers in a customer support solution that I offer. When the emails are sent out, they are sent to customer addresses in the form of

Customer Name <[e-mail]>

Now I would like to add the option to personalize the outgoing emails and would like to grab the Customer Name from the email address. Can you please possibly help me with the regular expression or point me in the right direction with probable search terms that will bring good results. Thank you.

where/how are you storing all of this data? in a database? if so are you storing the name and email in 2 separate fields?

Yes the information is in the database, but this is happening much farther down the road. The users of the program write their message and then have a multiple select list of:

Name1 <[e-mail]>
Name2 <[e-mail]>

I need to be able to read the line and grab the Name1 and Name2 to personalize the emails as they are being sent out.

from where is that multiple select list generated? where are you storing the names, emails that makes up that list? regardless, i suggest you break up the name and email in the form so they are returned to the form processor separately.
