[RESOLVED] A Version Issue?

Hi all,

Please could you take a look at this issue for me as I'm pulling my hair out over it. I'm trying to install a game stats module into PHP-Nuke, it's no big deal I've done twice before. But this time I'm getting an error and I can't see why.

Firstly, the error says "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-25, 25' at line 37" (see http://mafsquad.com/modules.php?name=Neos_Chronos&action=kill_stats ). So I thoguht that maybe this was a PHP version issue but as I said, I've installed this module on other sites and I compared version number with my http://thectu.com site. They are the same, here are the version numbers....

www.mafsquad.com (issue domain)...
PHP Version : 4.4.2
MySQL Version : 4.1.21-standard
Neos_Chronos : v1.9

www.thectu.com
PHP Version : 4.4.2
MySQL Version : 4.1.21-standard
Neos_Chronos : v1.9

And yet http://thectu.com/modules.php?name=Neos_Chronos&action=kill_stats works fine and I've never had a problem with it.

Can anyone help me please?

This is a mysql issue - query syntax error. Echo out the query string and see what it actually is. If you can't spot the problem then post it here.

It turned it out that the issue was caused by my tracking (Who Is Where) function which was using a variable with same name as the conflicting module ($page).

I've gotten around this by renaming the varibales in the tracking function but it further shows my lack of understanding of php.....I thought that since it was called through an include() call and didnt register the offending variable as a global, it couldn't conflict. Could I have used a differnt function than include to not 'carry over' the variables?

When you include a file it is exactly as if you had copy/pasted the code into the calling script so there is no way you can use the same name.
