[RESOLVED] if ( thisDate > aDate ) { do this } how?

I sorry i have always been bad at dates and syntax.

I'm tring to make an if to check a date is before or after a certain date.

Can someone possibly help me figure this one out, i need it down to the minutes and hour.

something like

if ( thisDate > aDate ) ){

}

I would look at using [man]strtotime/man to convert English time expressions to Unix timestamps, that way you're simply comparing two integers.

made up a little test script.

echo strtotime("now") ."<br>" ;

echo strtotime("11 September 2000 10:20") ."<br>" ;
echo strtotime("10 September 2000 10:21") ."<br>" ; 

echo strtotime("10 September 2000 10:20") ."<br>" ; 
echo strtotime("10 September 2000 12:20") ."<br>" ;

?> 

which comes out with

1156454896
968689200
968602860
968602800
968610000

so i can work with that.
