Copy files to CD from server using PHP

Hi everyone!,

I have some files in a folder (say, docs) on a server. I want to copy those files to a CD from my local PC. The CD writer is attached to my local PC. Please note that all the PC's and servers are connected to each other via LAN.

How can I do the above using PHP. Pls. note that I do not want to use any third party software like Nero etc. The entire operation is to be done using PHP.

Any early help will be highly appreciated.

PHP runs on the server. You want to execute something on the client. Please look into client-side technologies like Java Applets, ActiveX components to do stuff like this.

It won't be trivial to develop though...

The applet part is managable.

Let us assume that the files are now in the local system. Under these circumstances, how can I copy those files to the CD using PHP?
