Editing the text in a php file and providing links

Hey guys,
I need help immediately. I am absolutely new to PHP.I have a PHP file which has an HTML page and I am required to edit the text in it and thereby save the contents and send it to my boss. I dont have to do the uploading to the server though. Also I need to create new pages and also provide links to these on the main page. I would greatly appreciate anyone's help. Please reply to this soon coz I need to finish this work in one day. Thanks!

(but you will need to know HOW to deal with string data to write it properly. So, use the google link to do some tutorials, first, during and afterwards...)
