Are there a lot of tech jobs out there where people work with HTML codes and PHP and such all day?

I just got fired from a job doing html and a little javascript.
Most companys have a web precense, and they need a good html(maybe php) programer/coder to make and maintain it. But javascript will problly be needed for most html jobs(or at least it would be a plus)
I definetly plan on learning HTML, Javascript, PHP, and probably some Java and C, C++,and C#.
Check out craigslist.org. They have postings for work there all the time.
Well actually I found this great site that teaches HTML and Javascript, along with some CSS. It's www.yourhtmlsource.com , or something like that.
Sorry to ask a question here, but i didn't think i needed a new topic.
How likely is it i will find a job doing either php or html/css without a college degree? I'm trying to find a job to pay for college but most the stuff i've seen needs a degree.
I am no expert on it, but I would say that not many people would hire you. If you just wanted a part-time job doing web design to help pay for college, try designing websites for small companies in need, or maybe Best Buy?
Don't get discouraged.
I just got my current job two months ago. I was only good with HTML, PHP and MySQL. Now I get to use all those plus Perl, CSS, and JavaScript almost everyday. You just have to find a small business that is looking for someone that wants to grow within the company and has the base skills needed to get going.
Oh and I am a college drop out and only obtained my GED. So really, don't worry too much about a degree, just get with the right company.
i reckon you need experience more than qualifications.
i walked into a well paid dev job just down the road from me, i don't have any qualifications* but had enough of a portfolio of stuff i'd coded to get the gig.
this job involved php, html, xhtml, xml, javascript and anything else that came up. remember the more you can do the more value you are to a possible employer.
hated it though, so walked out after a week......... i simply couldn't do with the white collar, blue chip bull that went with it.
i've also been in the employers seat and turned away highly qualified people as they had no experience. all the theory in the world means nothing unless you can actually back it up with ability.
* i do have a swimming badge and parachute certificate though
Couldn't you have worked from home with a job like that?
OK, I have a question about this too, and I didn't think I needed a separate topic.
Let's say I don't have education and I can't travel to an office.
Where could I get experience and/or an actual Web job (involving possibly PHP/MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS) without education? I have a portfolio ready if necessary, but all the listings I look through want 5+ years job experience and education. I have the experience, I've just never worked with a company before. I'd even be willing to do volunteer work without pay just to get some experience, but everybody is more or less, "GO TO COLLEGE!" I haven't completed high school yet, so I can't go to college. I just want experience.
This is a Web field. You'd think I could do the job across the Internet, not go to an office.
In fact, since it would be child labor to assign me a job right now...
Does anybody know of any place that needs volunteer PHP help and/or a place where people who need that help would list their needs on?

ahh the good old days of child labour, get the kids off their xbox 360's and up the chimneys again to let them know they're born......

Not with a multi million turnover company i couldn't. There's no way they'd allow it, i was paid well and to be honest if i was paying that kind of money i'd want to be able to keep an eye on my staff and beat them when needed. you simply can't do that down a data pipe.

Doing it with a data pipe on the other hand .....
