Help with a easy HTML code, plz

Hey

I need help with a propperly easy HTML, but i just cant figure out what it is.

When you use a picture for a link they comes a blue fourangel around the picture (purpel if the link have been clicked on).

What code should i use to remove this fourangel?

Or I find it easier to just do <IMG SRC="...jpg" border=0"></a> (The /a is for the closing tag of the link tag).

Except that's not XHTML compliant (maybe not even HTML 4.01 strict? not sure...) - there's no such "border" attribute.

Speaking of compliancy, don't forget to close the IMG tag (e.g. <img.... />) ! :p

Closing the IMG tag with "/>" is only valid in XHTML, though most/all modern browsers will handle it OK in a HTML document. Frankly, with the confusion amongst various webserver on how they serve XHTML*, I prefer to just use HTML 4.01 Strict.

Many (most?) servers will serve it as "text/html" unless you give it a .xml extension, and if you do that IE - believe it or not - is probably the only current browser that handles it correctly in that case. Also, a properly formatted XHTML document should have a XML declaration as its first line, which if the server still serves it as HTML will then cause IE to go into quirks mode, since the first line isn't a doctype declaration.

PS: Instead of adding style attributes to your img tags, you could just add the following to a style block in your head section or your external stylesheet:

a img { border: none; }
