[RESOLVED] date('YmHis'): 2-3 days behind?

When I echo date('YmHis') the timestamp I get is 2-3 days behind... It's coming up with September 10th, and it's the 13th.

Anyone know what the deal with this is? Will it always be that far behind?

If you don't give the date function a timestamp it uses the local time.

Is your website hosted on a server in a different country, if so you'll need to make allowances. My website is hosted in Germany so I need to remember to take an hour when converting to UK time.

how can it be September 10th? you are not echoing the day at all. you are only echoing the year, month, hour, minute and second.

Well, how then can I get the current date/time from PHP in the format that date('YmHis') spits it out as?

you are getting the current date/time (according to your server's clock). but the point i was making is that you are not echoing the day so why are you saying that the date is wrong?

when I put this code:

echo date('YmHis');

It shoots out this: 200609105618

In other words: September 10, 2006

You haven't asked it to output the date though

The time you get breaks down as:

200609105618

2006 (year), 09 (month), 10 (hour), 56 (minute), 18 (second)......you have not specified to output the date which is either d or j

In order to get the date in one go like that with the date you need

echo date('YmdHis');

no. you are wrong. it echos the following:
year = 2006
month = 09
hour: 10
minute: 56
second: 18

the day of the above date is not September 10, it is September 13, but again you would not know that since you are not asking for the day.

ahh.. thank you...

That was it.. I originally had date('YmdHis') but somehow somewhere the 'd' got left out. Now it is working perfectly.
