[RESOLVED] localhost not recognising variables

Hi,

I am trying to test a project on my local machine (running Win XP, Apache, PHP, MySQL), but when I send a variable like this: "index.php?sect=login" it wont recognise it and spits out an error saying it is undefined. Is there something I need to change in PHP ini for this to work? Or is it something totally unrelated?

I think you just need the index.php?

Nah, because I'm sending the variable 'sect' to the index.php... but when the index.php loads it thinks the variable 'sect' is undefined.

Are you referencing it as $GET['sect'] ? (If register_globals is turned off - which it really should be - then you must reference it via the $GET array, not just as $sect .)
