[RESOLVED] GD Library help?

Hi there, new guy here!

I'm attempting to install a Fusion News board on my server, to add to my website frontpage (www.yoclan.com). Well, it's actually a reinstallation, since the box was wiped in some catastrophic failure recently (still haven't worked out how). Anyway, when running the install.php for it, it says I don't have a GD library installed.

Its a Windows XP x64 box by the way (please dont hit me!)

This is where we differ! I have enabled php_gd2.dll in the php.ini (removed the ';') and restarted apache multiple times. I then added the php folder (PHP 5 btw) to Windows' environment variables, in the path section. I also copied the php.ini to the Windows folder incase it still wasn't parsing the ini file. I also rebooted the server completely and Fusion News STILL refuses to accept that I have enabled the GD library.

Is there anything I've missed? I've not heard of a GD library before, and Fusion News is the only thing I've seen that requires it - so a slight noob on this one. Another news board isn't on the cards, since we got a lot of news post backups to restore etc.

Any help on this would be appreciated! Thanks.

Do a phpinfo(). Do you see a "gd" table? Does it say stuff like... "GD Support - enabled" etc. etc. ?

If not, then the GD extension apparently wasn't loaded correctly. I don't know how you've installed PHP, but have you tried creating the PHPRC system environment variable to point to the directory where your php.ini file is located? (FAQ entry here)

Depending upon whether you're using Apache 1 or 2, there're specific instructions for configuring PHP: [man]install.windows.apache1[/man] or [man]install.windows.apache2[/man]. Have you done these?

Apache 2 is installed fine. I used WAMP to load up Apache, PHP and SQL server after having several issues with incompatible new versions of all of the above. Damn developers!

Anyway, like I say, all installed using WAMP and running fine. Is 'phpinfo().' even a valid windows command? slaps self for being a nub

As stated above, I have set the einvironment variable for the php.ini and even made a copy in the windows folder to make certain it was being parsed as php was loaded.

Somehow, one of the other guys managed to get it working. I would say the issue is resolved, and will post what was done when I find out! Really bugging me now.
