[RESOLVED] help me find a regex for removing .com .net domains

Here is my regex;

'/([a-zA-Z0-9-]+.[a-zA-Z0-9-.]+)/i'

I think it is deleting more than it is supposed to be. I want it to stop deleting once it finds an empty space.

I would just like to remove names like SDSDSDD.com, easdalkd.com within a sentence like amsdokajds.com says would just be says

I just want the domain name removed up to the next space

Basically what is happening now is that with this regex:

$patterns[4]= '/([a-zA-Z0-9\-]+\.[a-zA-Z]+)/i';

every string is getting deleted that starts with sadasdlj.com

It should be easy because the domain is the form XXXXXXXXX.XXX There is no www. beforehand or anything after the .com .net etc besides a space.

It's like a domain name of the form XXXXXXX.XXX in a sentence. It does not start with [url]http://,[/url] but just the stuff after www.

XXXXXXX.XXX said that etc...

I would like to remove the XXXXXXX.XXX part.

This might be a bit better, in that it would not match abbreviations such as "A.B.C.", while it would match domains like "www.domain.com" as well as just "domain.com":

'/([a-z0-9-]{2,}\.)+[a-z0-9-]{2,}/i'
