Invitation/RSVP script

I was wondering if anyone knows of a free script that allows the sending of email invitations and then has an rsvp system that allows a user to view who has accepted and declined, and send reminders to people who have not responded? I know these scripts exist, but they either cost money or are privately used and unavailable to the public. I managed to find one script written in perl that does this(DaVite) but I can't get it to run on my webserver, and i'd rather have one written in PHP so it can have an actual username/password/register login screen rather than the setup DaVite has. Any ideas people?

Personally I would create my own, much more satisfying 😉 . I have had a look around for you, but have not spotted anything. If you don't find anything I would be keen to help you create what you need. 🙂

That would be amazing. My biggest problem is that although I have a background in programming, I have very, very,very minimal exsperience in PHP, so creating one from scratch on my own isn't gonna happen. You can email me at [e-mail] if you want to discuss this further. Thanks!
